TIPS
offers a cultural arts program as a part of its after-school activities each
year. Students in grades 6-9 will
explore this year's theme, "Artists as Advocates” while surveying the
classics through virtual tours of the world's greatest museums. Local artists will facilitate mixed media
activities to expose participants to art concepts such as composition,
symbolism, and self-expression. Each
student will produce a representation of a cause for which they personally
advocate to be performed or displayed in our annual closing program. The series of workshops will take place
Tuesdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm beginning January 17, 2014 at the Smith
Recreation Center, 1520 Slater Ave.
Fayetteville, NC 28301. Pre-registration is required as space is
limited to 30 participants. Contact
